Expert Sudoku is the hardest level on World Puzzle. With barely more than 24 clues, these grids can only be cracked by players who have mastered advanced techniques such as X-Wing, Swordfish, and XY-wing. Every grid is still verified to have exactly one solution — you just need to work for it.

How to Play Sudoku Expert

  1. Classic Sudoku rules apply: 1-9 once per row, column and 3x3 box.
  2. Expert grids open with only about 24 given numbers.
  3. You will need full pencil marks on nearly every cell.
  4. Advanced patterns — X-Wing, Swordfish, XY-wing — are usually required.
  5. Persevere: every expert grid is solvable with logic alone.

Tips & Strategies

Before looking for advanced patterns, exhaust every basic and intermediate technique. Then scan for X-Wing patterns: if a candidate number appears in exactly two cells of two different rows, aligned in the same columns, you can eliminate it from those columns elsewhere. Practice daily and expert grids become second nature.
